PART III - EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Bald Head Island Utility Company proposes to construct a
septic tank/LPP system to serve a new golf course club house.
The system is to consist of a 10,000 gallon septic tank, a dual
pump dosing chamber and a low pressure pipe disposal field.
Kitchen waste is to be passed through a 1200 gallon exterior
grease trap. A repair area is designated.
The system is to be located approximately 120 ft. from the
existing 1pp field which serves the main treatment plant. The
soil in the area generally consists of fine sand with a water
table of 3 to 4 feet below the surface. Soil borings were made
in this area in the summer of 1989. The proposed application
rate of 0.75 GPD/sq. ft. appears to be appropriate.
The design calculations have been reviewed and appear to be
suitable. The groundwater section has no objection. A permit
has been prepared.
