Summey Building Systems, Inc.
Dunescape Villas Wastewater Treatment
Plant Modifications
Carteret County
In accordance with a letter dated December 15, 1987, we are amending Permit No.
6446 to allow the construction and operation of an additional 65 feet diameter
hydraulicaly driven rotary distributor with all the necessary piping, valves,
appurtenances, a 200 GPM dosing pump and 247 linear feet of 4-inch effluent force
main. This permit amendment shall be subject to the following additional specified
conditions.
]1. Within 90 days of permit renewal, the two (2) existing monitor wells must be
abandoned in conformance with the requirements of 15 NCAC 2C.0113 due to their
improper construction.
12. Within 90 days of permit renewal, three (3) new monitor wells must be installed
to monitor groundwater quality upgradient and downgradi-ent of the rotary
distributors. The location and construction details for these wells must be by
approval of the Wilmington- Regional Office, from which a well construction
permit must be obtained.
13. The monitor wells must be sampled initially after construction and thereafter
every March, July, and November for the following parameters:
NO3 pH
Total Ammonia TOC
TDS Chloride
Water Levels Orthophosphate
Total Coliforms NO2
TOX (In November Only)

The measurement of water level must be made prior to sam
parameters.
The analytical methods used for TOX must be capable of &
all halogenated organic compounds present at a concentra
