Pump and Haul Operation
Yadkin County
This is in reference to the subject permit and the associated pump and haul activities to serve
Lydall, Inc. in Yadkin County. The subject permit expired on June 30, 1990 and your letter dated
February 27, 1991 indicated that the operation has ceased, the wastewater recycled since the last
week in November, 1990 and that the permit would not be renewed. The Division's Regional
Office has confirmed that the facility is no longer in operation. The Region may decide to contact
the company in reference to operation of this facility from June 30, 1990 to the end of November,
1990 if this permit had not been renewed for that period. However, in reference to the above
comments, the Division has proceeded to close out the file on this facility and has deleted this
permit from the nondischarge data base. Please be advised that operation of wastewater treatment
and disposal facilities in the State of North Carolina requires a valid nondischarge permit in
accordance with North Carolina General Statute 143-215.1 and North Carolina Administrative
Code Section 15A NCAC 2H .0200. Any construction or operation of facilities without a valid
permit is enforceable through the Environmental Management Commission.
