Dear Mr. Poupart:
This letter is in reference to both the November 13,2017 and December 12, 2017 letters from Shannon
Langley of Duke Energy regarding construction projects in order to comply with requirements of North
Carolina Coal Ash Management Act(CAMA), specifically redirecting wastewaters from the ash basin. A
temporary construction dewatering well network was installed to lower the groundwater table in order to
construct the lined retention basin for the site's overall water redirect project.
Construction dewatering for both the east and west coal basins was completed on September 10, 2018.
The dewatering equipment will be disassembled and removed from the site. These dewatering wells will
be abandoned per 15A NCAC 02C.0113 and well abandonment records will be submitted as required per
15A NCAC 02C.0114.
If there are any questions about this matter, please contact Brad Loveland at(980) 373-2820.
Sincerely,
/5eC4,1_
