1a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project:*
The proposed bridge replacement will be constructed as closely as possible within the footprint of the ebsting
bridge. Wetlands and stream impacts have been minimized as much as possible, with use of hand clearing instead
of inechanized clearing in wetlands wnere possible.
1b. Specificallydescribe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques:*
All in stream work will be done in the dry. All necessary sediment and erosion control BMPs will be installed and
maintained through construction. Disturbed areas will be restored and stabilized with permanent vegetative cover.
i NCDOT Best Management Practices will be implemented throughout construction.
2. Compensatory Mitigation for Impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State
2a. Does the project require Compensatory Mitigation for impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State?
C' Yes
C•' No
2b. If this project DOES NOT require Compensatory Mitigation, explain why:
Total proposed wetland losses do not exceed 1/10 of an acre. Total proposed permanent wetland impacts for project = 0.094 acre.
