We discovered an area that was not draining properly and this was causing an unusually high odor. We have alleviated
the area.

Melissa,
This is the facility covered under General Permit No. NCG240012, correct? What have the stormwater sample results of
this drainage looked like? I would recommend asking someone from the Raleigh Regional Office to make a site visit;
some Central Office staff could attend as well if available. This is a general question that is difficult to advise on in an
email without more information.
I'm copying Thad Valentine at the RRO, who is the primary stormwater contact. Thad, if this facility is Type I for yard
waste only, the leachate is considered stormwater per the revised GS 143-214.7A. Discharges must still meet
requirements for the stormwater portion of the general permit.
Best regards,
Bethany Georgoulias

Good Morning,
I am concerned about the liquid flowing from the material into our drainage way. What are best ways to managing the
runoff or how to handle when it is adversely affecting the stormwater?
Thank you,
