Per the requirements, the storm water sample was collected from the storm water discharge outfall (SDO) 001 during a representative storm event that consisted of 0.32 inches of total rainfall, as measured by the local United States Geological Survey (USGS) rain gage (number 351412080541245 CRN -53 at Harding High School, Charlotte, North Carolina). More than 72 hours of 0.00 inches of rainfall occurred prior to the sampling. During the sampling event, a visual inspection for qualitative monitoring was conducted as specified in Table 4 of the NPDES permit. No atypical conditions were noted during the field inspection. In accordance with Section C. of the permit, in the event that an atypical condition is noted at a stormwater discharge outfall, the permittee shall document the suspected cause of the condition and any actions taken in response to the discovery in the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP). The inspection results are presented below in Table 1. None of the results exceeded its corresponding benchmark value. The results of the storm water sample analyses along with their corresponding benchmark values as listed in the permit are presented below in Table 2, and the laboratory results are included as Enclosure 1. (Outfall 001) C Report Number: 680-146513-1 With the exceptions noted as flags or footnotes, standard analytical protocols were followed in the analysis of the samples and no problems were encountered or anomalies observed. In addition all laboratory quality control samples were within established control limits, with any exceptions noted below. Each sample was analyzed to achieve the lowest possible reporting limit within the constraints of the method. In the event of interference or analytes present at high concentrations, samples may be diluted. For diluted samples, the reporting limits are adjusted relative to the dilution required. RECEIPT I The samples were received on 12/07/2017; the samples arrived in good condition, properly preserved and on ice. The temperature of the coolers at receipt was 2.8 C. VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS (GC -MS) Samples OUTFALL 001 (680-146513-1) and TRIP BLANK (680-146513-2) were analyzed for Volatile Organic Compounds (GC -MS) in accordance with EPA Method 624. The samples were analyzed on 12/13/2017. No analytical or quality issues were noted, other than those described above or in the Definitions/Glossary page. OIL AND GREASE AND TPH Sample OUTFALL 001 (680-146513-1) was analyzed for Oil and Grease and TPH in accordance with EPA Method 1664A. The samples were prepared and analyzed on 12/12/2017. TOTAL SUSPENDED SOLIDS Sample OUTFALL 001 (680-146513-1) was analyzed for total suspended solids in accordance with SM 2540D. The samples were analyzed on 12/11/2017.
