Inspection Summary:
On August 28, 2018 this facility was inspected for compliance. I met with Bernice Wilson and others on site. The facility
was also inspected to confirm applicability of pending individual permit renewal. During the inspection, the following items
were noted:
1) An area was observed outside the facility which was being used to store a large number of steel cages. After inquiry, it
was explained that these cages hold aluminum parts for a washing/drying process. The permitee is directed to confirm that
these cages do not present any opportunity to expose any chemicals to precipitation when stored outside after use. The
permitee is also directed to provide a written summary of the industrial process associated with these cages to the regional
office.
2) A chemical storage area was observed at the facility containing a large number of used chemical drums. Due to the total
storage volume of these containers, this area must be under secondary containment to be in compliance with the permit.
The permitee is directed to immediately begin the process of designing and implementing secondary containment for the
chemical storage area.
