Why is the permit needed? What is triggering the need for a Permitting?
Existing & New Treatment units:
• Unpermitted and properly functioning single-family sandfilter discharge
system
Unpermitted failing single-family sandfilter
Failed conventional subsurface system
+ Expanding capacity of existing discharging single-family system
+ Functioning existing subsurface system: Owner is requesting to build an
addition onto an existing single-family house. But, local government will
not permit new flow, due to site constraints (e.g. soil, repair areas,
setback constraints). Therefore, owner is requesting a new discharging
system to accommodate existing and new flow.
