Install erosion control measures before start of construction. 2. Mark and identify clearing limits (performed by owner). 3. Install construction entrance to substation. 4. All trash/debris from demotion activities should be disposed of at a facility regulated by the division of solid waste management. 5. Clearing work necessary for erosion control measures and clean water diversions. 6. Installation of substation perimeter sediment and erosion control measures and all other required erosion control measures. 7. Install clean water diversions prior to major earthwork activities, including installation of sediment trap and basin. Diversion to be matted and stabilized with vegetation immediately. 8. Clear remaining areas of site. 9. Substation earthwork, including excavation, fill and grading. 10. Install substation access road with crusher run type gravel with all required culverts with inlet/outlet protection. 11. Upon completion of clearing, stabilize all surfaces for permanent vegetation, including all road beds, slopes, and disturbed areas within 7 to 14 calendar days as noted on the plans. 12. Station construction, line structure installation, build and construct lines. 13. Install driveway apron. 14. Maintain all erosion control devices. 15. Inspection and final approval by a representative of the land quality section required prior to removal of sediment and erosion control measures. 16. Remove sediment and erosion control measures after site stabilization at the direction of a duly authorized agent. Proposed Schedule of Events and Construction Sequence (SDV Sheet 2 of 5) 1. Call NCDEQ LQS (Mooresville Regional Office) at 704-663-1699 to schedule pre-construction meeting at least 48 hours prior to project activation. 2. Install silt fence matting, silt fence stone outlets, wattles and construction entrances as shown on plans prior to any site disturbance activities (clearing, grubbing, grading, or excavation). 3. Mark and identify clearing limits (performed by owner). 4. Begin clearing and grubbing operations for access areas only as shown on plans. 5. Inspect all erosion control devices at weekly intervals and after every rainfall exceeding ½” to verify that they are functioning properly. Any accumulated sediment shall be removed and placed in a designated spoil disposal area. Conduct periodic inspections of all erosion and sedimentation controls and make any repairs or modifications necessary to assure continued effective operation of each device. 6. All trash/debris from demolition activities should be disposed of at a facility regulated by the division of solid waste management. 7. Ensure all disturbed areas and access routes have been stabilized and approval has been given from the inspector prior to removing any sediment control measures. 8. Contractor to remove all erosion control measures after site is stabilized and submit to NCDEQ. Inspection and final approval by a representative of the land quality section required prior to removal of sediment and erosion control measures. 1.1 Substation Sequence Clearing, grading, and construction on the project area shall be accomplished in a single phase and this plan has been developed accordingly. 1. Obtain erosion control plan approval and other applicable permits. 2. Notify the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality- Mooresville Regional Office at least one week prior to beginning site disturbance activities. 3. Install all erosion and sediment controls prior to beginning the project activities in accordance with the North Carolina Erosion and Sediment Control Planning and Design Manual (latest edition). a. Temporary sediment barriers (i.e., sediment fencing) shall be installed down slope of disturbed areas and along the perimeter of the topsoil stockpile area. b. Land-disturbing activity at the project site shall begin with the installation of the construction entrance/exit(s) as necessary. 4. Mark and identify clearing limits. 5. Clearing work necessary for erosion control measure and clean water diversions. 6. Installation of temporary diversions and sediment basins. 7. Clear remaining areas of the site. 8. Substation earthwork, including excavation, fill, and grading. 9. Install substation access road with crusher run type gravel with all required culverts with inlet/outlet protection. 10. Upon completion of clearing, stabilize all surfaces for permanent vegetation, including all road beds, slopes, and disturbed areas within 7 to 14 calendar days as noted on the plans. 11. Station construction, line structure installation, build and construct lines (not included in this contract). 12. Install driveway apron. 13. Maintain all erosion control devices throughout the duration of land disturbing activities. 14. Inspect and final approval by a representative of the Land Quality Section required prior to removal of all sediment and erosion control measures. 15.
