The project is loctaed near Lexington, NC on SR-1844 which is classified as a collector route. The surrounding area is low density residential, business and Quality Impacts) agricultural land. The drainage area for Leonard Creek at the crossing is approximately 17.7 square miles. The project drainage system consists of a drop inlet and pipe that drains to the toe of slope. A riprap apron is located at the end of the pipe outfall. Deck drains are required; however, no drains over open water.
