Proposed Shoreline Stabilizations
Jordan Lake State Recreation Area (DWQ Project No. 09-0217)
Dear Ms. Karoly:

UENR - WATERfl 39M
WETLANDS ANO STORWLMM BRANCH
Enclosed are five copies of the additional information requested in your letter to us dated May 20, 2009. This information
includes an overlay of the project area on USGS topographic maps, maps depicting individual shoreline stabilization areas
and approximate lengths, and a photo log containing pictures of shoreline erosion taken in the four separate recreation
units within Jordan Lake State Recreation Area. We have also included email correspondence from Park staff to the US
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) documenting proposed shoreline stabilization lengths in each of the recreation units.
This information supplements the information we previously sent to your office that you have already reviewed.
Proposed work to be conducted consists of the installation of rip rap for bank/shoreline stabilization at multiple sites on
Jordan Lake. JORD has already received a General Permit Verification for Nationwide Permit 13 from the (USACE)
authorizing our proposed work. However, DPR understands that our proposed work should not begin until we receive
written authorization from your office. Please contact me if you require any additional information.
Sincerely,
040w? Va

Monte,
Here are the measurements for the different areas needing shoreline stabilization at Jordan. The written
descriptions were sent earlier.
Crosswinds Campground
The area left of Crosswinds Beach area needs preparation and protection from the wave and
run off erosion. This area is at least fifty yards long. There is a small amount of fabric
and rock in place from previous projects. 75'

Hey Shederick,
Have you got the linear footage for the streambank stabilization yet? This
will help dictate which permit to use.
