Reference: DWQ Project # 08-1028 Perry Creek Road Widening (UT to Perry Creek)
The 401 Water Quality Certification for the Perry Creek Road Widening project was approved and issued to
the City of Raleigh on July 10, 2008. According to permit guidelines, the City is required to inform DWQ of any
changes in the project design. Revisions in the drainage design have taken place since the issuance of the
permit. Neither of these revisions change the amount or nature of the impact that was previously permitted.
The first change is the removal of the outfall at the wetland north of the intersection of Perry Creek Road and
Wildwood Forest Drive. The stormwater from that pipe will now be re-routed to the west side of the
intersection. The outfalls at the south side of the intersection have been redesigned to accommodate a larger
energy dissipater on the upstream side of the Neuse buffer.
Refer to the attached plan sheets (old and new) for the revisions in the design. Please let us know if any of
the revisions will create any anticipated problems with our current permit. The City is hoping to construct the
project later this year.
