Permit: WQ0002005 Owner - Facility: House of Raeford Farms Inc
Inspection Date: 08/21/2018 Inspection Type : Compliance Evaluation Reason for Visit: Routine
Inspection Summary:
Routine inspection with Joe Teachey and Mason Drew. Please note comments in each section of the inspection report. In
addition:
1) Freeboard levels in the treatment lagoons were noted to be 24" (no. 1) and 32" (no. 2);
2) A random review of commercial lab reports and submitted NDMRs found no discrepancies in transfer of data;
3) A review of submitted NDMRs, NDARs and GW -59 found the facility to be generally compliant with limitations in the
permit. Monitoring well testing for NI -13-N was required with the last permit issuance, and it is noted that levels in the wells
surrounding the treatment lagoons are elevated above the 2L standard;
4) Irrigation field grass was noted to be in need of cutting and harvesting throughtout the spray areas due to recent wet
weather and should be removed when field conditions allow;
5) A soils report was not performed for 2017 as required in the permit. Please complete 2018 analysis as soon as possible
and include lime recommendations and relevant application records with the analysis or with the annual soil scientist report.

Comment: Heavy summer rains have prevented staff from cutting/harvesting grass on a routine basis.
Grass is curentiv hiah throuahout the sorav areas and should be cut and removed as soon as
conditions allow. An additional 12" transmission line from the treatment lagoon to the irrigation
spray lagoon has been constructed (8" present) allowing operators more flexibility in moving
water to the storage lagoon
