Hi again Amy,
My landscaper came over tonight and the bank slope will be 2:1.
Thanks,
Doug

EXTERNAL EMAIL: Please be careful with attachments or links Doug,
I need the proposed amount of rip rap that you want to apply to the shoreline above and below the full pond level.
* I need the shoreline stabilization dimensions to be in this format -
Above: 2' x 200'
* Below: 2'x 200'
For the grading work, what is the proposed slope you intend to grade to (ex: 2:1)? How do you plan to stabilize the
newly graded area above the rip rap? Please indicate what erosion control measures you plan to use to keep sediment
from entering the lake (mulch, vegetation, etc).
Thanks!

EXTERNAL EMAIL: Please be careful with attachments or links On June 27, 2018, the Division of Water Resources
(Division) received your application dated June 21, 2018, requesting a 401 Water Quality Certification from the Division
for the subject project. The Division has determined that your application is incomplete and cannot be processed. The
application is on hold until all of the following items are addressed:
* Please clarify if the shoreline will be graded back to a gentler slope. Yes, as we began dock construction we found
out that there was significant erosion into the shoreline bank. We will have to cave in the land that has been
undermined which will create a much gentler slope. The area we did for the dock construction is good representation of
how the rest will be stabilized, and I will be happy to send you a picture if that would be helpful.
* Please clarify the extent of shoreline stabilization above and below the full pond level you are proposing on
Gunpowder Creek in the backwaters of Lake Hickory (ex: 2' height above x 200' length). The information you provided in
your application was not clear.
It is one foot or less below water and 4-6 feet of sloped bank with rock. Bank height varies some because of terrain
differences. I will be happy to send you a picture of what we did for the dock construction if that would be helpful.
Pursuant to Title 15A NCAC 02H .0502(e), the applicant shall furnish all of the above requested information for the
proper consideration of the application. Please provide a response by August 17, 2018.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Amy Annino
