The rock cross vane at Site 6 needs to be redesigned to handle stormflow. Div staff believe it will be blown out. Div staff
will consult with Hydro and submit a permit modification.

Comment: We visited Site 6 in the D-Section. DOT explained that the planned for rock cross vane is probablv not
stout enouqh to handle storm flow from the culvert. DOT attempted Class A riprap but it was blown out.
We (DWR and the Corps) requested that thev consult with DOT's hvdroloqv section in Raleiqh to rethink
the rock vane desiqn. Additional bank stabilization mav be needed as well. A permit modification will
likelv be needed since the desipn has chanqed somewhat. No other sites on the D Section were
reviewed.
