WQ0039468 - Modification
Airlie at Wrighsville Sound
Wilmington, New Hanover County
July 6, 2018
Cape Fear Public Utility Authority was issued a Sanitary Sewer Permit — WQ0039468 on
September 25, 2017 for the 55-lot Airlie at Wrightsville Sound Subdivision; and on March 28,
2018 a modification was issued for a 56-lot Subdivision adding 1-lot (360 GPD) to the original
permit.
This permit modification request is to reduce eh total number of lots to be 49 single-family lots
reducing the total allocation to 17,640 GPD; 49-single family lots @ 360 GPD each. Further, the
gravity sanitary sewer previously on the rear (east side) of lots 45-49 in a green plaza was
moved to Sea Canyon Lane on the eastern side of lots 45-49, and the northern portion of Advent
Lane was removed from the project along with its public utilities.
SSG-1. LLC is proposing to develop a 11.81 acre tract of land along Airlie Road. In this phase of
development, SSG-1, LLC is proposing to construct 49 single-family homes within the
development. The nature of this FTA submittal is to permit a public system consisting of gravity
sewer to service the proposed subdivision.
SSG-1, LLC will install the gravity sewer within Airlie at Wrightsville Sound. The Cape Fear
Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) will own and maintain the system as well as accept the
sanitary sewer flow (17,640 GPD) from the site into an adjacent pump station (Airlie Road
Pump Station) which conveys flow to the James A. Loughlin (Northside) WWTP. The project
will convey gravity sewer flows to an existing 8" gravity collection system located to the south
of the project site. The existing gravity system is CFPUA sanitary sewer system. Flows will be
gravity fed into this existing 8" line.
An 8" PVC gravity sewer main will be installed throughout the proposed development, which
will provide public sewer access for the 49 single-family units. The 8" PVC main along Pergola
Terrace will carry future flows from the Galleria site. It is understood that the future Galleria
flow capacity will be permited once the design and use parameters are known.
This new gravity system is designed in accordance with the NCDEQ minimum design criteria.
Appropriate horizontal and vertical clearances will be provided when proximal to the proposed
storm drainage system and the proposed water system. The gravity sewer will be certified in
accordance with state regulations and the permit conditions. The project proposes 2,116 linear
feet of 8" PVC & 202 linear feet of 8" DIP gravity sewer.
