Dear Mr. Gonzales:
On April 29, 2009, the North Carolina Division of Water Quality (Division) received your application for a 401 General
Water Quality Certification to impact 956 linear feet of stream for the Brassfield Station Phase II subdivision and
commercial development, in Greensboro NC in Guilford County. Additional information is required in order that we may
determine your project's compliance with 15A NCAC 214.0500. The Division will require this information in order to
process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Therefore, we will place
this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information, and if we do not receive the additional
information requested below, we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H
.0506. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project.
1. The Division is aware that the US Army Corps of Engineers has requested additional information in a
letter dated May 28, 2009. Please provide the Division with a copy of your response to the items
identified in that letter.
2. Please clarify whether a stormwater management plan (SMP) has been approved by a Certified Local
Government at this time. If so, please provide the Division with two copies of the approval as indicated
in the following policy:
http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/ncwetlands/documents/SMPRequirementsforApplicantsotherthanNCDOT2.pdf
Please note that if the SMP has not been approved at this time the 401 Water Quality Certification
approval will not allow ANY impacts to streams to take place until an approved SMP has been submitted
to the Division.
