located in Dare County, Colington Harbour Subdivision, Lot 84, Section L on
Barkentine Inlet.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The applicant's property is located in Dare County in Colington Harbour
Subdivision, Lot #84, Section L on Outrigger.Drive on Barkentine Inlet, a man
made canal off the Albemarle Sound. The property is undeveloped and approximately
2110 of an acre in size and is vegetated with native lawn grasses. The lot is
bulkheaded with an asbestos bulkhead, which has a concrete cap. A single family
residence is proposed to be constructed on this lot.
The applicant proposes to construct a bulkhead approximately two feet out from
the existing bulkhead. The existing bulkhead is delapidated in the center of the
property with an eroded pocket approximately 20' long and 10' wide. The remainder
of the bulkhead is intact with backfill.
ANTICIPATED IMPACTS:
The project as proposed will result in the filling of approximately 322 square
feet of canal bottom, resulting in 47 cubic yards of fill with 23 of these being
below NWL. The project will result in increased levels of turbidity during
construction, however, these should be short-termed and localized.
