The stormwater component of the submittal is being reviewed by central office staff. My understanding is that portion of the submittal is still under review. With regard to the water withdrawal structure, the Division has been working with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) to evaluate the proposed withdrawal rate and volume. Overall, the proposed water withdrawal rate and volume are acceptable to DWR and NCWRC. However, the area (28 int) of the proposed intake structure results in an approximate maximum withdrawal velocity of 5.8 ft/s. DWR and NCWRC recommend a velocity not to exceed 0.5 ft/s through a screened intake to avoid impacting aquatic species. DWR will be requesting that TIEC revise the proposed area of the water withdrawal intake to achieve the recommended maximum intake velocity and to include a screen of 0.5 -inch mesh or clearly explain why the intake cannot be modified. Thanks and feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Andrew W. Moore, P.G.
