This permit, issued on , is subject to compliance with the application (where consistent
with the permit), all applicable regulations, special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject
permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action; or may cause the permit to be null and void.
(1) The proposed jetty will be constructed in strict accordance with the project
plans.
(2) The activity will be conducted in such a manner as to prevent' significant
increases in turbidity outside the area of construction or construction-
related discharge.
NOTE:. The waterward=most end of the jetty should be marked with a permanent
reflective material to increase visibility of the structures during periods
of inclement weather or after sundown.
This permit action may be appealed by the permittee
or other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the
issuing date. An appeal requires resolution prior to work
initiation or continuance, as the case may be.
This permit must be accessible on-site to Department
personnel when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification
not covered hereunder requires further Departmental
approval.
All work must cease when the permit expires on
December 31. 1990
In issuing this permit, the State of North Carolina
agrees that your project is consistent with the North
Carolina Coastal Management Program.

SITE DESCRIPTION:
The property is located in Dare County in Colington Harbour Subdivision at the
end of Colington Drive adjacent the Yacht and Racquet clubs on the Albemarle Sound.
Colington Harbour Association, Inc. proposes to replace 120' of the south groin
located at the entrance into Colington Harbour from the Albemarle Sound. The
existing groin is dilapidated and i*s 220' in length. The applicant proposes to
remove 100' of this and replace the remaining 120'. The proposed groin is to be
constructed of treated timbers.
The project as proposed would result in the placement of a 126' long groin
out into the Albemarle Sound. The proposed project will result in increased levels
of turbidity, however,..these effects should be short termed and localized.
