Lot #124 Section Y. Dare rnnnt? North Carolina *-,, ,t WILLIAM A. BEST BIO REPORT PAGE 2 SITE DESCRIPTION The applicant's property is located on Colington Harbor, Lot #124,• Section Y in Colington Harbor Subdivision on Brig Inlet off the Albemarle Sound in Dare County, N.C. The applicant's lot is approximately .6 of an acre and is 5 feet above NWL. The property has been developed with a single family residence and the shoreline was bulkheaded some years ago. This project is located near the mouth of the Colington Harbor Property Owners Association boat ramp. The applicant proposes to place 2 mooring pilings 20 feet apart and 25 feet from the bulkhead. The proposed pilings will be 10" round, salt treated, and will be approximately 25' in length, with 8' showing above the NWL, at a water depth of minus 10 feet. ANTICIPATED IMPACTS The proposed project will result in the placement of two mooring pilings 25' from the shoreline. The navigation use of this area will. be stopped with the mooring of a boat between the proposed pilings and the shoreline, however, no more than 1/3 the width of the channel will be removed by this placing of mooring pilings. The applicant has received authority from the Colington Harbor Property Owners Association to place the piling at the property line, and on the Association's property.
