Avoidance and Minimization 1 a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing project. The onsite septic and stormwater management systems have determined the remaining portions of the lot available for the construction of the planned duplex residential unit. The wetland fill request is based on the minimum amount needed to provide safe ingress and egress to the unit and to access equipment necessary for the structure. 1 b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques. While a nationwide permit could cover 0.1 acres of wetland fill, we have proposed the installation of a retaining wall the would reduce impacts due to fill slope requirements, thus eliminating an additional 6 to 8 feet of fill. The proposed fill is reduced to 1879 sf or 0.0431 acres 2. Compensatory Mitigation for Impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State 2a.
