Mr. West,
Thank you for the information you submitted regarding shoreline stabilization on Hyco Lake at the above referenced
property, included photos submitted via email on 7/11/2018 that show active erosion on the shoreline. Your activity,
described as rip rap stabilization of approximately 200 linear feet of shoreline, fits the description of Department of
Army, Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers General Permit 198200030 (GP 30) as long as the work is done in
compliance with GP 30 Special Conditions and General Conditions (attached).
Note, however, that you must also receive approval from the NC Division of Water Resources (NCDWR). Please see the
Shoreline Stabilization Form and Help Document (updated September 2013) at the following NCDWR website:
http://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/water-resources/water-resources-permits/wastewater-branch/401-wetlands-buffer-
permits/401-application-forms-help-documents
Sue Homewood (cc'd above) is currently the appropriate NCDWR contact for those requirements in Caswell County. Her
phone number is 919-791-4200.
If you have any questions related to Corps of Engineers requirements please let me know. Thank you for your time and
coordination.
Sincerely,
Dave Bailey

David,
Please see below photos of erosion and email from the Zac about erosion. We have a 6 new homes coming in,
there is erosion and will be more. We are trying to prevent more erosion. We would prefer not to spend this
money but fill like we need to. Also do do this now while construction is taking place will be much easier than
after all the homes are done and landscaping in. Please let me know you did get this and what other questions
you have.
