We probably should discuss this. By the way, I was out of the
office most of the week. Guess my voice mail should have reflected
that. Anyway, I spoke to Sheffield last Friday. I told him that I
did not necessarily approve of the request for additional fill, but
if they did mitigation (3+ acres filled in past under NW26), and
preserved all remaining wetlands on updated JD, I would recommend
issuance. Of course, to my surprise, they had worked out something
with the COE that would not require them to do mitigation until,
here's the kicker, they came back in for additional fill on several
other lots (the wetlands did not show up on old JD so they were not
previously put in preservation). So, I simply said I need
mitigation at 1:1 and I need either preservation of remaining
wetlands or all impacts up front. The on hold letter will go out
today. I let Sheffield know that I am no available on the 14th. I
am only available on the 17th after 2:00 pm. Thanks!
