In order to install the road, it is necessary to fill 0.16 acres of a wooded wetland with a culvert and associated fill. Manakel Drive is being installed down -gradient of an existing pond dam. The pond does not have a functioning outlet pipe. Currently, surface flow is going over two areas of the dam and creating a safety hazard and unstable areas that are washing away on the back side of the dam. It is necessary to lower the water level and install a functioning outlet pipe and structure. In order to upfit the dam, it is necessary to impact 0.08 acres of a wetland fringe, emergency spillway wetlands and wetlands at the base of the dam that will be lost as a result of removing the hydrology. 3. Based on survey data, it is estimated that approximately 45 linear feet of stream channel were previously piped to provide access to a septic field. The road provides maintenance equipment (tractors, bush hogs, etc.) access to the septic field. Additionally, it is necessary to install a sewer force main beneath a stream in order to treat sewage that will be generated by Phase 5 of the subdivision.
