COE- Todd, Kim EPA -Todd DMS- Melonie, Kristie Notes and Sketch, etc Closeout visit - Started by walking some of SF2 and SF3- streams dry, area seemed very dry. Wetland RW3- proposed as R, mapped by Ortosky, some soils showed some indicators, looked for chroma 3, often did not see it. Not real comfortable with soils in this area, gauge made it though. Wetland RW3- proposed as Creation, gauges made it, but soils did not look good. Had trouble finding consistent indicator. Should these soils show a indicator? Hutton stated Mike Wood came out before and gave a somewhat summary review of areas and talked about seeing structure and color trends in the upper several inches. I did not see that much, maybe some. UT1 A & B- were ephemeral or intermittant E2 reaches. Vegetation ok, again, it was dry however, there was some discussion as to whether these features were jurisdictional. NRW2- gauges strongly made it, soils did have more indicators. Then trucked over to SF1 and UT2 reach area- NRW1- soils looked ok, former pond, did not remove all of dam RW2- proposed R while GW4 made criterion, soils did not look close to making it. Asked that they redraw lines, Todd T thought the wetland polygon was too wide. Creation RW2- veg struggling here and soils spotty at best... Trucked over to SF4 and SF4A area - Creation RW4- gauge not making it, soils looked similar to rest of creation areas Rest-RW4- soils looked a little better, gauges made it SF4- stream channel looked ok, no water SF4A- this proposed as E1, some discussion here since the channel was straight, was more incised, did not do full restoration, questions about the real uplift on this reach. Decided to accept but expressed disappointment with reach. last area, was creation area south of SF4, the veg and soils looked better in this area. I asked for more soils info, whatever Ortosky gave them plus a summary from Mike Wood regarding his review. After reviewing that will provide final decision. Action Items
