Discharge Point(s): Latitude: 35° 03' 55" Longitude: 80° 39' 14" U.S.G.S. Quad No.: G 16 SW U.S.G.S.Name: Midland,N.C. 7. Receiving stream or affected surface waters: UT to South Crooked Creek. a. Classification: C b. River Basin and Subbasin No.: Yadkin Pee-Dee; 03-07-12 c. Describe receiving stream features and pertinent downstream uses: The discharge is into an UT first order,headwaters stream. The unnamed tributary travels for a short distance before it joins the main stem of South Fork Crooked Creek. Downstream is generally rural,with a mix of residential and commercial development. General C classification uses downstream. PART II-DESCRIPTION OF DISCHARGE AND TREATMENT WORKS 1. a. Volume of wastewater to be permitted: 0.090 MGD b. What is the current permitted capacity: 0.090 MGD c. Acual treatment capacity of the current facility(current design capacity)? 0.09 MGD d. Please-provide a description of existing or substantially constructed wastewater treatment facilities: The existing WWT facilities consist of an equalization tank and a tower air stripper. e. Possible toxic impacts to surface waters: Toxicity is limited. PART IV-EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS The Permittee, Radiator Specialty Company, is requesting renewal for the discharge permit at the facility located in Indian Trail. No discharge was noted during the investigation since the facility was undergoing maintenance at that time according to Mr. Kerkhoff. There have been no changes to the wastewater treatment facility since the permit issuance. Pending review and approval by the NPDES Unit, It is recommended that the NPDES permit be renewed as requested.
