Sue,
I attached the revised sheet C-2 of the plans. Please let me know if there is another preferred means to send this.
Thanks,
Bobby

Sorry, my mistake. If you could just update the plan to show proper installation/elevation that will be
sufficient. Thanks

Sue,
Just a quick clarification/question: the plans actually show riprap at the inlet side of the culvert to dissipate the small
amount of roadway drainage as it enters the channel. I did not propose rip rap at the outlet side as I don't believe it is
needed and it could potentially do more harm than quick. GC 4139 No. 18 seemed to support this. However, I can
certainly add a riprap apron to the outlet if the permit requires.
Regardless, I will modify the plans to show that the inlet apron is not above the existing grade of the channel.
Thanks again,
Bobby

Hello Bobby,
I am reviewing the application for this project and need a couple things before I can issue the approval:
1.The General Certification #4139 Condition 11. 11 requires that the pipe be installed below the elevation of the
streambed by 20% of the diameter of the pipe. Based on the profile shown on Sheet C-2 it looks like you are
proposing that the pipe outlet be "at grade" and therefore it wouldn't meet this condition. Please modify the
plans to reflect compliance with this condition.
2.The plans show that there will be a riprap apron below the outlet of the pipe. We require that this apron be
constructed such that the top of the riprap matches the natural streambed elevation. Can you please provide
a drawing that shows proper installation of the riprap.
Thanks,
