List the total estimated acreage of all existing wetlands on the property: 0 4e. List the total estimated linear feet of all existing streams on the property: (internittent and perennial) 0 4f. Explain the purpose of the proposed project:* Over time, sediment has accumulated in the bottom of the ditch. It is estimated that there is approximately 12-18 inches of sediment in some areas likely due to ATV activity that has occurred in the past. The accumulated sediment is holding water back from draining out of surrounding communities. The purpose of the project is to remove the sediment from the ditch and restore the ditch for proper drainage. 4g. Describe the overall project in detail, including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used: Remove sedimentation that has collected at the bottom of the ditch and reshape as necessary with tracked excavators. The project is approbmately 2,000 feet long. All sediment removed will be spread on upland areas adjacent to the ditch and seeded and mulched to stabilize with vegetation. The ditch will be seeded and matted to promote stabilization. 4h. Please upload project drawings for the proposed project. Project will be seeded and matted to promote stabilization by vegetation at the completion of the project. E. Impact Justification and Mitigation 1. Avoidance and Minimization 1a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project:* Project is to remove sediment build up for approAmately 2,000 linear feet and approximately 6'-8' wide. Project will be seeded and matted to promote stabilization by vegetation at the completion of the project. 1b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques:* Excavators will work from the top of the ditch bank in upland areas. Sediment will be removed from the bottom and moved directly to upland areas - stockpiling will occur outside the limits of the ditch in upland areas, no stockpiling will occur within the ditch. 2. Compensatory Mitigation for Impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State 2a. Does the project require Compensatory Mitigation for impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State? r Yes r No 2b. If this project DOES NOT require Compensatory Mitigation, explain why: Project is to remove sediment and maintain the ditch. Permanent impacts are not anticipated. F. Stormwater Management and Diffuse Flow Plan (required by DWR) *** Recent changes to the stormwater rules have required updates to this section .*** 1. Diffuse Flow Plan 1a. Does the project include or is it adjacent to protected riparian buffers identified within one of the NC Riparian Buffer Protection Rules? r Yes G No For a list of options to meet the diffuse flow requirements, click here. If no, explain why: It is an existing drainage ditch. Upon completion of the work the ditch will be re -stabilized to prevent erosion with vegetation. 2. Stormwater Management Plan 2a.
