b. Permit Numbers:The Town of Newport operates the wastewater treatment system under
the following permits:
i. NPDES#NC0021555
ii. Land Application WQ#0008349
iii. Collections System WQCS#000177
c. The Town of Newport has a wastewater collection system that consists of about 19 miles
of pipeline; nine lift stations; and a wastewater treatment plant. The wastewater treatment
plant uses the Oxidation Ditch method of treatment. The treatment plant consistently
meets our NPDES permit limits.The biosolids produced by the treatment process are
recycled onto farmland as fertilizer under permit number WQ 0008349.
2. Performance
a. List of permit violations:
No permit violations in 2017.
3. Biosolids Disposal: There were no permit violations in our biosolids disposal program in 2017.
We have permit farm site in Craven County.
4. Notification. This report has been made available to the citizens of the Town of Newport by
the following means and methods:
a. Copies of this report are available at Town Hall, and will be posted on the bulletin board.
b. This report shall be placed on the Town of Newport Web Site.
c. There will be a Notification in the local paper. (Carteret News Times)
5. Certification: I certify under penalty of law that this report is complete and accurate to the best
