The aquatic toxicity test using composite samples of effluent discharged from the USMCAS
Cherry Point WWTP has been completed. USMCAS Cherry Point WWTP has a permitted effluent
discharge of 3.5 million gallons per day(MGD)entering the Neuse River. Whole effluent
samples were collected on June 19 and June 21 by facility representatives Alicia Sanchez and
Stephen Reavis and transferred to Robbie Bullock for use in a chronic Ceriodaphnia dubia pass-
fail toxicity test. The test passed. Toxicity test information follows.
Test Type 3-Brood Ceriodaphnia dubia chronic pass-fail
Test Result Pass
Test Concentrations 14%
Control Survival 92%
Control Mean Reproduction 23.25 neonates
Test Treatment Survival 100%
Treatment Mean Reproduction 19.75 neonates
First Sample pH 7.87 SU
First Sample Conductivity 755 micromhos/cm
First Sample Total Residual Chlorine <0.1 mg/L
Second Sample pH 7.88 SU
Second Sample Conductivity 754 micromhos/cm
