Wedgefield Subdivision Phase IV Storm Water Narrative
The site is currently undeveloped. The site is being developed as a single family
residential subdivision. The existing site drains to a constructed depression in a
neighboring development to the south and to an existing storm water pond on site that
currently services Wedgefield Phase III and will be enlarged to ultimately service Phase
III and Phase IV .
There is currently 6,226 of impervious area within the existing site. The proposed
development will increase the total impervious for the drainage area to 42.2%. Storm
water will sheet drain across the lots into the roadways. Storm water will then be
conveyed through an underground drainage system into an enlarged on-site wet pond
in the northwestern portion of the site. The pond will discharge into the existing storm
system within the development adjacent to this project. The wet pond has been re-
designed such that the outflow from Phase IV and Phase III will not increase over the
current outflow of the existing pond. This wet pond has been designed in accordance
with the latest NCDEQ MDC Stormwater Design Manual.
