On June 20, 2007, Ms. Stephanie Bnxey of the Raleigh Regional Office conducted a Pretreatment Compliance Inspection
of the WWTP facility. The assistance given by Mr. Bill Davis was greatly appreciated. Findings during the inspection
were as follows:
1. There is 1 Significant Industrial User (SIU) which is also a Categorical Industrial User (CIU). It was noted that
they were not in SNC for the last semi-annual period.
2. The pretreatment inspection file review included HydroTube (Permit No. 0001). The files needed for review were
available for inspection and contained all the required elements. HydroTube has closed its operation and is no
longer discharging to the POTW. Mr. Davis or Mr. Poteat needs to verify that there is no process water there left
to discharge and submit a SIU drop form to PERCS Unit to remove them from the list.
3. A review of the files containing the pretreatment program elements was conducted. Sewer Use Ordinance
Revisions were due June 1, 2007 to include the streamlining changes. Mr. John Poteat, Utilities Director, will
begin the revisions immediately and submit to the Division for approval. An extension has been given to all
POTW's that failed to meet this deadline. A letter will be sent to these facilities stating the extension date.
4. The next Headwork's Analysis is due 08/01/2008. This is a reminder that quarterly testing will need to be done in
September and December 2007 and March and June 2008 to fulfill the testing requirements to complete
Headwork's.
