The Pretreatment Unit of the Division of Water Quality has reviewed the Industrial Waste
Survey (IWS) submitted by Town of Pittsboro. This submission was by the Division on
September 29, 2003.
The review indicates that the IWS is adequate and meets the minimum requirements of 40 CFR
403.8 (f)(2). Proper completion of an Industrial Waste Survey is also required by Part III (B), of
your NPDES permit. Please refer to the Comprehensive Guidance for North Carolina
Pretreatment Programs (Comprehensive Guide) for additional information and examples. The
next IWS will be due September 30, 2008.
