Dear Mr. Jenkins:
The Pretreatment Unit of the Division of Water Quality has reviewed the two Industrial User
Pretreatment permit (IUP) modifications issued by the Town of Pittsboro for the following
Significant Industrial User (SILT). These IUP modifications were received by the Division on
March 12, 2002, with additional information received on April 2, 2002.

The review indicates that the IUPs resolve the Division's concerns expressed for this SIU and
this ]UP in our March 4, 2002, Notice of Violation, and that overall the IUP modifications are
adequate and the minimum requirements of 15A NCAC 2H .0905 and .0916 and 40 CFR
403.8(f)(1)(iii) are met.
