HomeMy WebLinkAbout20180765 Ver 1_Staff Comments_20180321Homewood, Sue From: Homewood, Sue Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2018 3:44 PM To: Clement Riddle (clement@cwenv.com);'kaylie@cwenv.com' Cc: Mitchell, Robert K Subject: Stormwater requirements for High Hampton Inn Clement, I re -reviewed the ORW regulations and conferred with staff in our Central Office for the stormwater requirements for this project. 15A NCAC 02B .0225(e) states (paraphrased): undesignated waterbodies that are tributary to ORW designated segments of the Chattooga River shall comply with 15A NCAC 0213.0225(c). 15A NCAC 0213.0225(c)(1) states that stormwater controls for all new development activities shall be required to follow 15A NCAC .02H .1000 (recently repealed and replaced with 15A NCAC 02H.1021). So a post construction state stormwater permit from DEMLR will be necessary for this project. You canfind the rules, stormwater design manual, and application form on DEMLR's stormwater website. When filling out the state storrawater application you should answer questions as if it is classified as an ORW water. For the purposes of the 401, we're going to want to see the location of SCMs to document that they will not cause additional impacts to streams/wetlands.
