SWE reviewed the North Carolina Historic Preservation Office (NCSHPO) GIS web service
(http://gis.ncdcr.gov/hpoweb) and downloadable GIS datasets to identify recorded historic resources in
the vicinity of the project area. Six historic resources were identified within a one -mile radius of the site,
including the Northwestern Carolina Railroad Historic District. Of the six resources, the individual sites
have been surveyed only while the Northwestern Carolina Railroad Historic District has a Determination
of Eligibility for the National Register. The nearest historic resource is approximately 0.38 miles from the
site. The historic resources are summarized in the table below. No impacts to historic resources are
anticipated as a result of this project. Historic resources located within one mile of the project site are
summarized in the table below and depicted on the attached Historic Resources Exhibit.
