Many emails have gone back and forth, but we are still awaiting DWR approval of the O&M Plan (POM) in order to complete
the intent of the NOV. This is a fairly new process as DWR was delegated the responsibility of POM Approval. Much has
been accomplished in finding our way through this fairly new process. Chris Pullinger is awaiting the Mining Permit 74-86,
Mining Map, which is to include the POM process language to be included on the actual Mining Permit Map. This is
intended to assist the 3 programs, such that each are on the same page. Historically each program; Mining, NPDES SW,
and the 401 Section have independently processed with little correspondence between programs. It is WaRO's intention to
establish a process which will improve processing by reducing, duplication and potential impacts.
I have closed out the NOV-2017-PC-0311, as of issuance of this NPDES SW Permit (3/19/18), however the process has yet
to be completed.
Marc Edwards presented language on 5/2/18, and Chris Pullinger accepted the language on 5/7/18, however, DWR requires
the language of the POM to be presented on the 74-86 Mining Map to complete this process.
Please complete this requirement by the close of business on 7/16/18, in order to prevent additional action.
