Daniels Creek Mitigation Site
— The Initial Proiect of the Middle Cape Fear Umbrella Mitigation Bank
Harnett County, NC
Wildlands Engineering, Inc. proposes the creation of the Daniels Creek Stream and Wetland Mitigation
Site ("bank site") in the Cape Fear River Basin, Cataloging Unit 03030004 in Harnett County, North
Carolina. This will be done underthe newly created Middle Cape Fear Umbrella Mitigation Bank. The bank
site will provide 13,090 stream mitigation credits, 4.53 riparian wetland mitigation credits, and 0.5
nonriparian wetland mitigation credits. The site is described below.
DANIELS CREEK SITE
The Daniels Creek Site encompasses 55 acres and will include 8,492 linear feet (LF) of stream restoration,
2,087 LF of stream enhancement I, 7,761 LF of stream enhancement II, and 1,037 LF of stream
preservation. The site will also include 3.50 acres of riparian wetland rehabilitation, 3.68 acres of riparian
wetland enhancement, and 0.97 acres of non -riparian wetland enhancement.
The implementation of the mitigation concept will result in significant ecological improvements within the
Daniels Creek watershed. Among these are improvements to aquatic and riparian habitat, reduction of
nutrient, bacteria, and sediment loads, connection of the onsite streams to their floodplains,
improvements to wetlands, and restoration of native riparian buffers. The attached figures illustrate the
location of the bank site as well as the mitigation activities proposed. The tables below summarize the
credits generated by the site, including proposed mitigation ratios.

From Raleigh take US -1 South to US -421 in Sanford. Take exit 70A for US -421 Bypass East and follow to
merge onto US -421 South. Take exit 143A to stay on US -421 South for 5 miles toward Lillington. Turn left
on Seminole Rd. and then right shortly after on Tim Patterson Lane. Meet on Tim Patterson Lane before
turning onto driveway (ample parking space available).
Use 78 Tim Patterson Lane, Broadway, NC 27505 for mapping purposes.
