We have acquired a copy of the Public Notice just this morning. We received no notice, nor did our neighbors. We own over 8 acres of land that Osborne Creek runs through. This decision greatly impacts our property. We have a waterfall and native trout in a small natural pond beneath that waterfall. The purposed subdivision, lake and dam, would have serious impact on Osborne Creek and adjacent properties, including toxic run off from 31 lakefront and 21 creekside lots. Should we ever have another "Ivan" or worse and the integrity of the lake/dam hampered our home and property would be devastated. Environmentally we have several white squirrels here, wild hogs, deer and every other kind of critter that will be impacted by such a subdivision. We purchased property in Transylvania County after 8 years of searching because it has not be corrupted by those wanting to put $ in there pocket, to heck with the effects. Please stop now, step back and tell me how, in this day and age of rules and regulations by EPA and Wetlands, Water Quality, you could possibly approve this plan to stop or consume a natural flowing creek with protected native trout? I would hope that our request would be honored so we do not have to pursue other avenues to prevent this. We request this decision be postponed and a public hearing take place.
