Estimating approximately 10-13 trees will likely need to be removed for shoreline stabilization. Church Street J EC120 Charlotte, NC 28202 This office has reviewed your Private Facilities permit application(s) and is authorizing the building of the structure(s) subject to the following conditions: • The construction of the facility must be completed as described in the approved application and within twelve (12) months from the date of this approval. • Lake Services must be notified upon completion of the structure(s) so the lake use permitting process can be completed; a permit tag will be attached at final inspection (if one is not already present on an existing structure). • Please place a copy of this letter in a watertight plastic bag and post it along the shoreline where you are implementing your approved activity. • New, expanded or rebuilt facilities or mooring buoys must be situated or constructed in size, dimension, or design such that an average -size (10 foot minimum) moored watercraft will not interfere with access to other facilities and not obstruct ingress and egress of watercraft. • A dock within the project boundary, no larger than 1200 square feet, as specified in the application is approved. Any and all work must comply with the Shoreline Management Guidelines. Your request to cut 9-10 trees on the Duke Energy property is denied. The majority of the trees that were flagged in this area must remain. Refer to section 6.1-2 in the Guidelines. We will allow limited tree removal to include only what is necessary to complete this dock construction. Therefore, no more than 4-5 trees along the edge of the shoreline should be cut. We also encourage you to replant native vegetation on the Duke Energy strip of land to replace any of the cut trees. Note: Permitees must immediately notify Duke and stop all work if historical or archeological resource are discovered during the implementation of an authorized project. Please note: This approval does not approve electrical service on dock or piers. Lot owners should contact their county Buildings and Codes office for electrical service requirements and/or restrictions. Some counties may restrict submersible pumps in the lakes.
