North Topsail Beach & Sneads Ferry Collection System
Onslow County
Dear Permittee:
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the North Topsail Beach &Sneads
Ferry Collection System on April 5, 2018. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in
compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Collection System Permit No. WQCS00275. A summary
of the findings and comments noted during the inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection
report.
The inspection was conducted by Division of Water Resources staff from the Wilmington Regional Office. The
following deficiency(s) was noted during the inspection:

Records Failure to submit Annual Wastewater Reports to the Division
Records Need to complete map by 9-2019
Pump Station Out of 8 stations inspected, 2 audible alarms and 1 telemetry out
Records Pump station inspection records need more detail
Pump Station Signage could be better

In addition, the issues below should also be addressed:
• Keep amount or percentage of line cleaning versus the 10% annual permit requirement
• Improve Capital Improvement Plan
The Division of Water Resources may pursue enforcement action for this and any additional violations of State law.
To prevent further action, carefully review these deficiencies and address the causes of non-compliance to prevent
the recurrence of similar situations.
