Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Design/Future: 1300 Year: 2017 Existing: 1300 Year: 2017 General Project Narrative: Replacement of Bridge No. 280082 on NC47 over Lick Creek in Davidson County North of Denton, NC. Proposed 140' long by 36' wide double-span bridge to replace existing (Description of Minimization of Water 105' long by 25' wide triple span bridge. The proposed grade will be about 0.5' above existing ground within the vicinity of the bridge and roughly matching existing ground just Quality Impacts) outside of the bridge. The proposed bridge will have no direct discharge into the water. The minimum number of deck drains necessary to maintain safe passage by the traveling public will be installed over the overbank floodplain areas as far from stream as possible and diffused on riprap dissipators. Stormwater runoff from the proposed bridge is to flow to a traffic bearing grated inlet on the right side of the roadway where it will be diffused with a riprap pad at the outlet. All proposed stormwater runoff is discharged as far away from the stream and at the lowest velocities as practicable. Impacts to wetlands in the south quadrant are due to proposed fill and have been minimized. Permanent impacts to Intermittent UT to Lick Creek (SA) are due to stream location and 54" pipe extension and these impacts have been minimized. Streambank stabilization is proposed at the 54" outlet as well as along the west bank of Lick Creek. A 3" ductile iron waterline is proposed to replace an 3" existing waterline on the northeast side of the bridge. The waterline is proposed to be installed by trenching about 15' upstream of the existing line due to the required increase in bridge width. Impervious dikes are proposed to accompany a short duration pump-around. Impervious dikes are also proposed to facilitate removal of existing bridge piers.
