Subsequent communications have taken place between myself and Mr. Ian McMillan, DWQ 401 Coordinator, including the most recent email correspondence I've included in our application package for reference. Please also find the enclosed journal transfer documentation indicating that payment of the $240 application fee has been transferred from Division of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to the Division of Water Quality. Proposed work to be conducted consists of the installation of rip rap for bank/shoreline stabilization at multiple sites on Jordan Lake. JORD has already received a General Permit Verification for Nationwide Permit 13 (attached) from the US Army Corps of Engineers authorizing our proposed work. However, DPR understands that our proposed work should not begin until we receive written authorization from your office. Please contact me if you require any additional information. My main concern is EB. Please see attached map for FB in its entirety. The map does not represent where the shoreline actually is so I have put down approx. shoreline representation. NIv main areas of concern are where the eroding can cause visitor safety issues and facility, and structural damage possibilities. "Frees being up rooted and falling are also major concerns. I_henczcr: Please refer to map. Again. the entire shoreline is eroding but the high priority areas have been marked in yellow. All highlighted areas have been numbered and will be address separately. 41 Erosion is bad and the point will eventually be cut oft. #2 Rip rap has been placed along this parking lot but the erosion is under cutting that protection. Stairs had to removed that lead from the lot to the shoreline due to erosion and the shear drop that was created. One picnic pad and eventually the parking lot will be in danger due to the erosion. 43 Erosion here is threatening picnic pads that are located in the woods along the shoreline. One pad in particular is in danger. 44 The erosion is slowly approaching, shelter #S but it's the trees that are being up rooted that's a concern. These trees have the potential of falling and damaging the facilities and injuring visitors. 95 Erosion control should be put in place to keep the boat ramps form being under cut. New Hie Overlook: Shoreline erosion is taking place at NHO. As of now no facility damage or visitor safety issues exist. Boat ramps look OK but if we want to be proactive rip rap could be placed along shoreline of boat ramps. O O O L U ca L (q L O a) m U C: U O ai o o E a 0 ! tr tr cn E MS ? O U b °i E 0 m () N a a) ?
