Dear Mr. Kishefski,
Thank you for reaching out to the US Forest Service in coordinating the proposed slide repair
within the Wilson Creek Wild and Scenic River. The section of the river with the planned work
is designated as "recreational," noting outstanding and remarkable values of unique scenery and
geology as well as recreation. These recreation values are tied directly to whitewater boating and
recreational fishing. Maintaining water quality, for these values and many others is well
supported by the Wilson Creek Comprehensive River Management Plan. Likewise maintaining
Brown Mountain Beach Road for public and recreational access is supported in the
"recreational" sections this river. These actions will not affect the Wild and Scenic designation
of Wilson Creek.
