As a follow-up to our meeting I wanted to send you my stream forms as requested and a brief summary of our discussions. Please let me know for sure on items #2-5 when you get a chance: 1) Stream start point and Int/Per breaks were approved as flagged on the attached sketch map (POST USACE Meeting Map). Questions regarding stream buffers (our discussion in RED): 2) Can trees be trimmed or topped in wetland buffer zones? If so, how short can they be topped/trimmed in these buffer areas. Zone 1 / 30 -ft: Trees can be limbed and potentially topped but the cutting cannot compromise the health of the trees. Nuisance/invasive plants can be removed by hand. Zone 2/ 20 -ft: This zone can be mowed / maintained. No Solar panels can be placed in wetland areas. This would violate the State Wetland Standards via shading. Panels must stay out of the entire 50 -ft buffer zone. 3) How close is allowable to the stream bank or centerline of the stream with these activities? Buffers begin from the stream Top -of -Bank 4) Are there limitations to the total acreage of disturbed areas for these activities? No limitations in regards to acreage. Zone 2 can be maintained without notification. 5) What kind of permits / approvals must the project receive to top/thin/trim trees in Zone 1? Please let me know about this one. Thanks!
