REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Mr. Morgan:
DWQ Project # 09-0331
Brunswick County
On March 26, 2009, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your Pre-Construction
Notification (PCN) application for construction of a boat ramp, bulkhead, two fixed piers, and
two floating docks. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or
provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional
information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on
the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive the additional information requested below,
we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506 and
will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information. Please
provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested:
1. After reviewing the plans included with the CAMA Major permit application, it appears
that the project cannot be constructed as proposed without further wetland impacts.
Revise the project as necessary to build the project without extra wetland impacts or
revise the application to include the necessary impacts for construction of this project.
2. The waters in this area have been classified as PNA, meaning that future maintenance
dredging in the area will not be possible. Explain how the water depths will be
maintained in the future.
Please respond in writing within 30 calendar days of the date of this letter by sending a copy of
this information to me and to Ian McMillan, 401 Wetlands Unit, 2321 Crabtree Blvd, Raleigh,
NC 27604-2260. If you will not be able to provide the requested information within that
timeframe, please provide written confirmation that you intend to provide the requested
information, and include a specific timetable delineating when the requested materials will be
provided. If we do not hear from you in 30 calendar days, we will assume that you no longer
want to pursue this project and we will consider the project as returned.
