Subject: Notification of Start of Study for STIP No. U-6077, widening to multilanes
of SR 4315 (Kernersville Road), from SR 2632 (Sedge Garden Road) in
Winston-Salem to Harmon Creek Road in Kernersville, Forsyth County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Division 9 has started the
development of environmental and engineering studies for the subject project. The project is
included in the current 2018-2027 NCDOT STIP with right of way acquisition and utilities
scheduled for Fiscal Year 2024 and construction beginning in Fiscal Year 2026. Please note that
this schedule is subject to change.
At this time, it is anticipated that a Minimum Criteria Determination Checklist (MCDC) will be
prepared for this project. A project scoping meeting was held on February 21, 2018 at the Division
9 office in Winston-Salem.
Existing project data is attached for your use. Please provide any additional information you may
have that would be useful in evaluating the potential environmental impacts of this project. It is
desirable that your agency respond by May 21, 2018. If you have any questions about the
