The site is a maintained DOT roadway currently used for general transportation. Land use in the vicinity of the site is
mixed commercial and residential. All Relatively Permanent Waters (RPWs) adjacent to the roadway are relic agricultural
ditches.

The purpose of the proposed project is to install a new large diameter water transmission main. As designated in the
master planning efforts by the CFPUA, completion of this main will improve system pressure, reliability, and water quality
in the western part of New Hanover County.
3e. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used:
The applicant will install a water line within a construction corridor located along the NCDOT right-of-way. All impacts to
RPWs will be temporary. Construction will include grading of the right-of-way to its original state after installation of the
utility line and culverts where needed.

All impacts to RPWs will only be temporary. The water line will be installed along with culverts where necessary as not to
impede RPWs. Natural grade will be re-established once the line has been installed.
